Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.

I’ve decided to set some new goals for this little blog. I plan to hold to my original purpose of sharing glimpses into my walk with God, but the truth is I don’t wake up each day filled with inspiration for what I’m going to share with you, the world, about what He has been speaking to me. For those who’ve noted the absence of recent posts this should come as no surprise.

One of my routines when I write in my journal is to start by listing “praises” – things that have occurred for which I want to offer praise and gratitude to God. Usually I write it “PRAISES!” because I strive for enthusiastic optimism, and I believe such things should always be exciting. Those who know me well are not surprised by this either.

In the interest of giving you more insight into my life and faith, I’m going to carry this practice over into my blogging. Except I’m going to spare you the excessive use of caps and exclamation points and call it “Counting blessings.” I’ll try to post this once a week.

Best of all (are you excited yet!?), I invite you to respond with your own personal expressions of thanksgiving for the awesome things – great or small – that God has been up to in your life. Practicing thankfulness keeps God’s goodness fresh in my mind, and I’m always encouraged to hear of His faithfulness to others.

So let’s get started, shall we?

I’m also thankful for quality time spent with God and for insight and encouragement for moving forward in the things He’s called me to. Little steps but tangible ones.

What are you thankful for?
